Recommendations for the European Commission

In order to promote the integration of citizens outside the EU in vocational education, a holistic approach is needed at the European level involving all actors at different stages of integration. This is stated in the report ‘Learning Providers and Migration: Empowerment and Integration through Learning’ by a working group set up by Cedefop consisting of European interest groups for vocational training.
In this report it makes recommendations to the Commission and vocational institutions within Europe for a better integration of third country nationals (ODL). The working group wants an EU-wide framework for social and professional integration based on the 2016 action plan for the integration of ODL in order to better connect processes in different member states. It also underlines the importance of intercultural mediators in the integration process and the importance of EU-wide recognition for this profession.
